Almost all our bed ranges offer the option to buy just the mattress, for use on bedsteads etc (although care should be taken to ensure the bedstead slats are suitable for taking the new mattress you choose – please ask us if you have any doubts) or as a divan bed, with or without storage options.
Divan bases are usually designed to work in conjunction with the mattress, so we would not recommend using a new mattress on an older divan base. Please be aware that if you use a mattress on an old divan base, you will void your manufacturer’s warranty – your one year guarantee from Fairway Furniture will however still be valid.

Choose from a range of options on many of our models – our ‘Find Your Perfect Bed’ selector conveniently shows only those options that are available for each model, but here’s a quick guide:

| 2 Drawers | 2 drawers, of equal size, down one side of the bed (Note: the base can be turned through 180 degrees to move the drawers from the left to the right, or vice-versa) |
| Continental 2 + 2 Drawers | 4 drawers – 2 drawers either side, 1 half the bed length and the 1 quarter the bed length |
| 3 Drawers | 3 drawers – 1 across the full width of the bed at the foot end and one half the length of the bed at either side of the head end |
| 4 Drawers | 4 drawers – 2 drawers on either side of the base, each half the length of the bed |
| Ottoman | The mattress platform, usually slatted, lifts up to reveal storage under the full footprint of the bed |

Please note that divan base drawers are only suitable for lightweight items – they should not be used to store heavy items such as books, crockery etc.
